Royal Shell as Total may miss the June deadline set by Iran to agree on developing the country's South Pars gas-field.
Shell and Total say that the complex contractstructures won''t be completed by June.
April 15 the managing director of Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company warned the multinationals to enter a contract if they seek to develop the South Pars gas-field. Otherwise they were likely to be replaced by Asian corporations.
In March, Iran's Oil Minister, Gholam-Hossein Nozari, gave an ultimatum, allowing them to sign the development contract only by June 19.

The director for exploration at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), says that in Khuzestan province, 30 km from the city of Masjed Soleiman near the Asmari mountain a new gasfield is discovered.

President Ahmadinejad says that the current crude oil prices from $115 per barrel are still too low.
He spoke at the International Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Exhibition in Tehran.
Despite high oilprices, the real value of crude oil adjusted for inflation, is currently less than what it was in 1980.
Other figures suggest that today's crude prices might have surpassed inflation-adjusted highs set in early 1980.
Depending on how the adjustment is calculated, $38 a barrel then would be worth $96 to $103 or more today.
