Iran: not only paper won't blush

Archeologists have succeeded in deciphering the name of Darius the Great on a piece of Achaemenid inscription.
After fine examinations the name of Pharnaces, de brother of Hystaspes, the father of Darius I, was identified.
Darius I, titled the Great, (549 BC- 485 BC) was king of Persia from 522 BC to 485 BC.



The Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmud Hashemi Shahrudi said on Thursday that human rights are well observed in Iran.
The amount of attention paid to the rights of various groups in society such as women, children, and even the prisoners in Iran is even higher than of many countries that claim to be defenders of human rights.
He said this on the last day of his three-day visit to Qatar.



Reporters without Borders report that April 8, online journalist Esmail Jafari is arrested, a day after he and two other journalists were briefly detained.
The journalists were present at a demonstration in Bushehr of about 20 workers protesting against their dismissal.
The next day Jafari was arrested an his house was searched. His computer’s disk drive and personal documents were seized.
According to the local news website Sook , he has been accused of “spying” and “divulging information abroad.”
Jafari is a reporter for the local news weeklies Nassr Bousher and Baharestan. He is also the editor of the blog Rah Mardom.
