Iran: following

The Iranian ambassador in The Netherlands Friday May 16, refused to have a meeting with Amnesty International and Dutch members of parliament.
Amnesty rallied in front of the Iranian embassy in The Hague and asked for information about Abdullah Al-Mansouri , who at this date is two years imprisoned in Iran.
According to Amnesty, the members of parliament, (Martijn van Dam (PvdA), Mariko Peters (GroenLinks) en Fasher Bashir (SP)), were very disappointed about the refusal.
They will ask for a new appointment very soon.
The exact charges against Al-Mansouri are still unknown and also it is not known whether he gets a fair trial.


Kaveh Azizpour 25, a political prisoner in Kurdistan province, died (fa) in Sanandaj prison.
Two years ago he was arrested for his political activities.
He was tortured in prison and was hospitalized several times.





Reporters without borders call for the immediate release of human rightsactivist Emadoldin Baghi who suffered a heart attack in his cell at Tehran’s Evin prison.
He was hospitalised May 7 after heartproblems, but was returned to Evin jail the same evening.
April 15 following a temporary release for health reasons, he was returned to prison.
On his return to Evin jail, his books, articles and papers had been seized in his absence and prison guards had also confiscated the defence he had prepared for legal proceedings against him.
April 10 he was named foreign journalist of the year at the British Press Awards.

In Iran there are childoffenders, still on death row.

Children are being hanged to death.
