Iran: switch

Fars newsagency reports that Wednesday two men are hanged, (Fa) in prison in the city of Qom.
The men, A. M.en K. N. were convicted for drugs trafficking.


The director of National Iranian Oil Company told Fars newsagency that Iran has switched from dollar to euro and yen in oil trading.
Agreements are made with all crude oil buyers to pay in foreign currencies other then the dollar.
Oil transactions in Europe are conducted in euro, while both euro and yen are used for its oil sales in Asia.



A member of the board of National Agricultural Products Insurance Fund Management said Wednesday that 13 provinces have been hit by drought resulting in a vast loss of agricultural products.
At a symposium in Hamedan he said that wheat farms, pomegranates, pistachios, cypress fruits, grapes, olives, and walnut orchards have gone through severe loss because of drought.
Tuesday the deputy for Industries and Infrastructural Affairs said that the lack of water may be the cause that this Iranian calendaryear's goal for cropping 107 million tons of agricultural products may not be realized.
Currently 86 billion cubic meters of water required for agricultural use is being supplied from wells, springs, surface waters, aquifers, and dams.
