August 31 is a man hanged in Boroujerd.
The man, Ali Sadeghi, was sentenced to death for the murder on Hossein Ashurpour in 2007.



A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on Richterscale has Wednesday, September 10th, jolted the portcity of Bandar Khamir, Hormuzgan province.
The earthquake happened at 15.30 local time.
According to the head of provincial disaster management headquarters, the earthquake demolished nearly 200 villages. The earthquake killed at least five people and injured 46 others.
The tremors were felt in the UAE. The oilfactories in Bandar Abbas were not damaged.
Afterwards the earthquake was followed by two aftershocks, measuring 4.8 and 4.4 on the Richter scale.


Tuesdaynight heavy storms and floods in Chaharmahal-va-Bakhtiyari Province cost the lives of 16 people.
50 houses and 300 ricefields were destroyed. Also five fishfarms were destroyed and 1,030 cattle killed.
In Khuzestan province 3 people got killed by the storms and four others injured.
Meteorologists say the storms will last till Thursday.



The prosecutor in Fars province called for apostasy charges against two christians detained in Iran.
Mahmoud Matin, 35 and Arash Basirat, 40 were in May arrested in Shiraz by the Ministry of Intelligence.
According to the persianlanguage christian newsagency in Shiraz they are charged with disseminating propaganda against the regime of the Islamic Republic, agitating public opinion, publishing malicious materials, and insulting Ayatullah Khomeini, Ayatullah Khamenei and regime authorities.
The newsagency also reports that 14 days ago in the city of Mashhad Ramtin Soodmand, is arrested. In July are 16 christians arrested in Isfahan.
Although in penal laws of the Islamic Republic a specific punishment has not been defined for apostasy, according to religious law, conversion from Islam is considered apostasy and punishable by death.
December last year are 14 christians arrested in the cities of Rasht, Karaj and Tehran.
In May were 10 christians arrested in Shiraz.
