Iran: demand

The Iranian parliament has passed a law that will require presidential candidates to hold a masters degree or its equivalent.
151 members voted in favor of the law.
This law is passed one day after the removal of Interior Minister Ali Kordan who possessed a forged Oxford University Ph.D degree.

A policeofficial said that 14,700 Afghan nationals have been arrested in the past seven months. Of this number 12,141 illegal Afghans have been deported.
The Police Commander of Tehran says that illegal immigrants wherever they are seen get arrested and handed over to the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrant Affairs of the Interior Ministry.
He says that if there is weakness in this regard, it does not have to do with the police.
Recently the Director General of Labor Ministry’s Directorate for Foreign Nationals spoke of the weak cooperation between the police and Interior Ministry in expelling illegal foreign workforce from the country.
The policecommander rejects this accusation and says police arrests these people based on the rule of law, but some officials are at times hesitant in deporting them.
The comment that the police has performed weakly in this regard is unacceptable, he says.
The Ministry of Labor claims that over two million illegal Afghan immigrants are active in the local job market.

Environmentalists have expressed concerns over the Caspian Sea pollution.
Contamination and destruction of the environment of the Caspian Sea have led to a situation whereby many marine animals have either become extinct or are on the brink of extinction.
Every day hundreds of thousands of chemical, industrial and oil-related pollutants enter this closed sea.

If pollutants continue to enter this sea and illegal fishing prevails, then within the next 10 years no sturgeon could be caught in the sea.
Research showed that over 90 percent of sturgeon reserves of the world exist in this sea.
To solve the Caspian Sea problems requires regional and international cooperation.

In Iran there are childoffenders, still on death row.

Children are being hanged to death.
