Iran: decline

The National Council of Resistance in Iran writes that last week in the prison of the city of Semnan two men were hanged in secret.
The men were missing since November 2008.
Their names are not known.

According tothe daily Jomhouri Eslami are Thursday in the prison of the city of Kermanshah three men hanged.
The men, Naser Ahmadi, Saeed Jannati and Farzad Jannati were convicted for murdering a businessman in 2003.


February 3, Reza Negahdari, a third year law student of the university of Tehran was abducted by agents of the intelligence ministry (MOIS).
Negahdahri,secretary and spokesman for Iranian Freedom-loving Students,was suspended from university already for his political activities and his participation on the protest against president Ahmadinejad in October 2007.
His familymembers get no information whatsoever about his whereabout or charges against him.


According to the Central Bank in Iran the inflation dropped from 26.4 percent in the previous month to 24%.
This report is a significant fall since September when inflation was 29.5%.
The director of the Central Bank wants to cut inflation to around 22 percent by March 20, the end of the current Iranian year.


Ex-president Khatami has said he is definitely to be a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.
He said so Sunday at a meeting with the press.
