Iran: interference

The head of justice, Ayatollah Shahroudi, ordered Monday preciseness and expedition on reviewing the case file ofRoxana Saberi.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Qashqavi, also advised foreign officials and individuals to avoid making hasty judgments over the Saberi case.
The lawyer of Saberi, Mr. Abdolsamad Khoramshahi has, according to Etemaad, said(fa) that he next week, together with Shirin Ebadi, will appeal to the sentence.
Roxana Saberi is sentenced to 8 years in prison on charges of espionage.

In heavy clashes in Fars province, 2 soldiers and 4 drugssmuglers have been killed. Fifteen criminals were arrested,The criminal gang calls itself Criminals of the Mountains and is involved in the smuggling of narcotics, organized crime, murder, kidnappings and armed robbery.
The fights started after a report of an armed kidnapping fifteen days ago. The police was involved and after 15 days of armed fighting they located the body of the kidnapped man. Investigation revealed that the man had been murdered before the crackdown.
The Criminals of Mountain group was formed when a number of convicted drug smugglers, thugs, and murderers with long criminal records gathered together in 2004.

Fardanews reports that an Article in the Family Support Bill allowing men to take a second wife without the consent of their first spouse has been dropped off.
A lawmaler said that the article would harm the foundation of families and added that no man can apply justice to numerous wives.

A rapport of Tehran Municipality said that Tehran has the worst traffic in the entire country.
Analyses show that an average Tehran rush-hour driver wastes more than 1.5 hours a day in slow or stopped traffic. Transportation experts in Tehran say in traffic jams in the Iranian capital waste 13 million Tehran citizens around 20 million hours per day. Roads and alternatives like public transportation and telecommuting are not keeping pace with the increasing traffic.
The Tehran deputy mayor for transportation and traffic affairs, says Tehran's subway system needs a $120-million investment, which should be provided jointly by the government and Tehran municipality.
