Iran: colour

The prosecutor in Zahedan says that 88 people 58 Iranians and 30 Afghan citizens were arrested during the unrest in this city.
The detainees are charged with participating in the unrest, starting fires, causing destruction, and committing residential thefts and assaults.
The unrest began after rumours of the possible assassination of Molavi Abdulhamid, a wellknown sunni imam in this city. He has denied the reports and asked his supporters to remain calm.

Shirin Ebadi wrote a letter to president Ahmadinejad demanding the removal of the padlock seal to the office of the Human Rights Defense Center and the curtailment of security and political pressures imposed on civil rights, political and human rights activists by organizations that are under his control.

Iranian Guardian Council, the body supervising elections, has declared that using Iran's flags or green banners is banned tomorrow, June 12th, election day.
Mir Hossein Mousavi uses green to represent his campaign and Ahmadinejads supporters use Iranian flags as a symbol.

Aljazeera reports that Iran's Revolutionary Guard has warned reformists in the country against seeking a "velvet revolution".
Yadollah Javani,, political chief of the Revolutionary Guard wrote on his website that this would be "nipped in the bud".He drew parallels between Mousavi's campaign and the "velvet revolution'' that led to the 1989 overthrow of the communist government in then Czechoslovakia.
The statement came after Mir Hossein Mousavi and president Ahmadinejad traded bitter accusations. Mousavi is very popular under the youth in the country and as election day comes nearer the campaigns get stronger.
The Revolutionary Guard is one of the pillars of the Iranian establishment and controls large military forces as well as a nationwide network of militia.
