Iran: violent

At a gun attack on two trucks on the Nosratabad-Bam road near the southeastern Iranian border with Pakistan and Afghanistan was one person dead and two injured. The attack took place on Tuesday.
Police started a manhunt to find the culprits.
According to Reuters there was also an attack at a bus on the same road, but it was not clear whether it was an attack apart from the one on the trucks.
In the past days more then 30 people were arrested in and near the city of Zahedan in connection with the bombing and the disturbances.

Iran has arrested several Afghan nationals in Zahedan who have a history in acts of sabotage.
According to deputy commander of police, Brigadier-General Ahmad Reza Radan the group wants to destabilize the country ahead of the elections.
The leader of the Pakistan based group Jundullah, Abdolmalek Rigi, has called on Sunni clerics to dishearten people from voting, threatening to assassinate those who choose to do otherwise.
Recently, Rigi admitted in an interview that he received assistance from another anti-Iran group, Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO), and said that MKO has had good intelligence collaborations with Jundullah.
He has however denied any links to Washington.

Reuters reports that speaker for the judiciary Ali Jamshidi said that in the city of Tabriz 11 people were arrested on accusation of gathering with the intention of committing crimes against national security and keeping firearms.
Further details were not revealed.
