Iran: (in)valid

Jafar Ebrahimi Azandariani, , former member of Office for Strengthening Unity, teacher in Shahriar, and activist for the teachers union in Tehran, is June 10 arrested due to his union activities.
He is held in solitary cell in ward 209 of Evin prison.
His family has not been able to visit him despite numerous attempts, and the charges against him are unclear.

A group of clerics in Iran has called Iran's presidential vote invalid, contradicting official results.In a statement to the press, the Assembly of Qom Seminary Scholars and Researchers said some members of the Guardian Council had lost their impartial image in the eyes of the public.The statement says among other things how can one accept the legitimacy of the election just because the Guardian Council says so?
Correspondents say that the statement is further proof of a split at the top of Iran's establishment.
In the last weeks more than 1000 persons were arrested.
Sunday, Irna reported that about two-thirds of those arrested had been released.
Twitter and other sources speak more and more about torture and abuse.
