Last Tuesday a woman was hanged in the prison of Qazvin, who four years ago unintentionally murdered her father-in-law during a dispute.The woman was incarcerated on the charge of intentional murder, but because of being financially destitute and unable to hire a lawyer she was not able to prove that the death was unintentional.
When the family of the deceased man refused to forgive her, the court order (execution) was carried out.

Human Rights activists in Iran writes that there is no information about the condition of Mohammad Ali Dadkhah a prominent human rights lawyer and one of the founding members of the Defenders of Human Rights Center.
Some reports state he is detained and held in Section 209 of Evin Prison.
Amir Raeisian along with five other colleagues Farideh Gheirat, Mohammad Mostafaei, Sara Sabaghian, Bahareh Davalou and Maryam Kian Ersi are his defense attorneys.
He says that Dadkhah was arrested with a number of other lawyers at his office in Raad Legal Institution on July 8th and transferred to Niloufar Police Station. The others were all released the next day.

Human Rights Activists News Agency indicates that meningitis and typhoid fever may be spreading in Evin prison.
According to the news reports of the Association of Human Rights Activists in Iran and that of Evin Prison, on July 17, 2009, all inmates were given the antibiotic ciprofloxacin.

In Iran were Friday 36 officers arrested who planned to attend last week's Friday prayer sermon by former president Hashemi Rafsanjani in their military uniforms.
They wanted to do this to show their solidarity with the demonstrations against last month's presidential election results.
Fridaymorning they were arrested and transferred to an unknown location.
The website Pelknet named 24 of the officers, who included two majors, four captains, eight lieutenants, six sergeants and four warrant officers.
Reports last month suggested that General Ali Fazli, had been arrested for refusing to obey orders to suppress protests against election result. The reports were later denied.
Khamenei appointed yesterday a cleric, Hojatoleslam Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem, as the new head of its political ideology section.

Friday was lawyer, women rights defender and co-founder of the campaign "Stop stoning forever"Shadi Sadr abducted by plain-clothed agents.In the act she was hit badly and dragged so badly that her scarf and manteau was removed from her.
Since then she has been able to talk with her family a couple of times without mentioning where she is and why she has been arrested.

Former president Khatami has called for a referendum on the legitimacy of the government, following June's disputed elections.
Iranian websites write that Khatami said that millions of Iranians had lost faith in the electoral process.
In Fridaysprayers Rafsanjani also said the government had lost the trust of millions in Iran.
Rafsanjani is a key power-broker in Iranian politics.
