Reformist newspaper Etemad-e-Melli(National Trust), which together with the party website is owned by Mehdi Karroubi, was closed down late on Sunday on the orders of Mortazavi's office.
The prosecutor Mortazavi denied to Mehrnews that the newspaper is banned.
Technical printing problems were the reasons for not distributing the paper.
Today the newspaper was not published.
Karoubi angered many hardliners when he said that some detained protesters, both men and women, had been raped.

French citizen Clotilde Reiss is released against bail.
She stays in the French embassy in Tehran pending a verdict.
A French embassy employee, Nazak Afshar, who faces the same charges, was conditionally released earlier this week by Iran and will also stay at the embassy ahead of the verdict.

A group of Iranian clerics has issued an anonymous letter calling Iran’s supreme leader a dictator and demanding his removal.
The letter was published on opposition Web sites and by the withholding of their signatures,it is difficult to prove authenticity. Still,two Iranian experts vouched for its authenticity. The letter follows unusual verbal attacks on Khamenei.
In their letter they accused him of turning the Revolutionary Guards into “his own private guard, and the media into an instrument to defend and propagate him".
A cleric and former MP who spoke on condition of anonymity said they number several dozen, and are mostly midranking figures from Qum, Isfahan and Mashhad.

In Marivan, province Kurdistan, 2 girls, Mehri Tatarche, 15 and Ghazaleh Sobhani 17, set themselves ablaze following family disputes and died.
In recent weeks the region has witnessed several cases of self-immolation by girls and women .
