Iran: prison

In the city of Khah, province Sistan-e-Baluchestan has a man been hanged on January 20th.
The man, Allahnazar Sh. was sentenced twice to death for murdering two men.
His full name is, according to a Baluch activist website, "Allahnazar Shahlibar, 26 year.

Website Jaras reports that Alireza Beheshti, top-advisor to Mousavi has suffered a heartattack during his detention. He was spotted in court wearing pajamas, having a long beard,on his way to be interrogated.
He told in a tekephoneconversation with his family that he was feeling better now.
Beheshti is the son of one of the founders of the islamic republic and was arrested 3 weeks ago.
Until now he has been deprived of all legal rights, including being allowed to meet his lawyer or family.

Iranian Bar Association Union investigates the zijn arrest of 8 lawyers last week. They were not identified.
Reports say that a number of these lawyers were arrested by government security agents in their homes or offices in Tehran and other cities.
Two of the arrested lawyers are women.

The students Ramin and Roozbeh Tehrani are transferred to ward 350 of Evinprison.
They are charged with Moharebeh (war against god) and cooperating with the Monarchy Association.
In trial on November 9 in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran both were acquitted of the charges of Moharebeh.
Many political prisoners have been transferred from other wards in Evinprison to ward 350 where are special restrictions to prisoners.

Last Saturday, have security agents in Laleh Park banned the gathering of the Mourning Mothers.
A number of Mothers held gatherings in other parts of Tehran, and they reminded the enemies of freedom that they can take over Laleh Park, but not the entire nation. That their members are still alive.

According to reports from Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran isolation prisoners of Gohardashtprison, in retaliation to the growing physical abuse and torture gained control for a period of time.
January 17th Hossein Karimi and Mehrdad Saraei in Ward 2 of Gohardasht prison, Karaj (known as the “doghouse”) disarmed two guards. Other guards tried to regain control with electric batons , but were finally locked in an isolation cell.
The confrontation reportedly continued for several hours.
This is the third time that prisoners gained control of torturechambers in Gohardashtprison.
Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran condemn the medieval methods of torture practiced in Gohardasht prison, and urge other human rights organizations to take immediate action to end the widespread systematic tortures practiced inside Iranian prisons.

Two more prisoners in Kurdistan are sentenced to death.
Mohammad Amin Abdollahi, 25 and Ghader Mohammadzadeh,32 residents of Mir-Abad in Bookan,were convicted to resp. 20 years and 32 years in prison.They were taken to Orumieh and sentenced to death.
At the moment 20 Kurds who are sentenced to dead are in prison.

Ahmadinejad announced to drop 3 zero digits from the national currency.
The rial is equivalent to 100 dinars. The current value is 10,000 rials for 1 U.S. dollar.
Expectations are that inflation will rise when the gasolineprices are freed beginning the new Iranian calendaryear.
Ahmadinejad asserted that the implementation of the subsidy reform plan will not cause any concerns for the people.
