Iran: further

Farzan Hakimzadeh, 4th year student at Amir Kabir University, was arrested on Ashura (December27) and transferred to a isolation cell in Gohardasht Prison which is run by the IRGC. Following interrogation and torture, he was subsequently transferred to ward 4 in section 12 of the prison.
Currently a number of Ashura detainees are held in ward 4 of section 12.
They include 15 friends and members of the Shadmehr family.
Zavosh Shadmehr, a Sharif University student, and his father are among the Shadmehr family members.

A group of textileworkers from the Simin textile factory protested in front of the office of the governor of Isfahan to protest their unpaid wages.
They have not been paid in 6 months and were told by the management not to expect any New Year bonuses or other benefits.
The management is not interested in the workers problems and told them that they are free to protest but their protest will go nowhere.
When asked why they keep working without pay, one of the workers told that they have no choice and that things only get worse.

Over the past few months, a large number of merchants and residents of the border region in Kurdistan province have been killed by securityforces.The government wants to hand $100 bloodmoney to the familymembers of the victims.
Also merchants have been warned to stop using their horses to carry merchandise. This has led to a wave of discontent among the residents.
Securityforces forced a group of about 70 border merchants to walk barefoot in the snow from a border crossing to the police station in Jazniava village.

Radio Zamaneh reports that the commemoration of Mohammad Mosaddegh, the first prime minister of Iran an the leader of National Movement of Iran on March 5 is banned.
The authorities have called on the Mosaddegh family and the councillors of Ahmadabad to officially announce the cancellation.
Mossadegh died in 1967 on the age of 84 years.

The father of member of OneMillionsignatures Campaign Dorsa Sobhani is March 4, physical and verbally assaulted by six securityagents when he left the house.
Yesterday her house was searched, but she was not at home.
He was handcuffed and blindfolded and he was interrogated for four hours.
Security officials warned that if he does not hand his daughter over to the Ministry of Intelligence by Saturday, he and his wife and younger daughter will be placed under arrest and their home will be taken away from them.
