The funeral of political prisoners Mehrdad Karimpour and Davoud Aivazi was on Behesht Maasoumeh Cemetery in Qom without any prior notice.The agents did not allow any video recording or photography to be taken of the bodies in the medical examiner office’s or during the funeral procession.
Eyewitnesses say that someone was making a video recording of all of the participants gathered in front of Mr. Karimpour’s residence. Karimpour and Aivazi were detained during the 7th day ceremony held for the passing of late Ayatullah Montazeri.
The victims’ family members were unaware of their whereabouts for a long time.

Branch 76 of the criminal court in Tehran sentenced the head of newspaper Iqbal to a fine of $2,000 in exchange for imprisonment and five years of censure from any press-related activities.
He was found guilty on the charge of spreading propaganda against the regime,and received a monetary fine in lieu of imprisonment and was banned from any press-related activities for the duration of five years.
He was freed from other charges.

Ahmad Karimi, Nasser Abdolhosseini, and Hesam Tarmasi, are among the five political prisoners who by the director of ward 350 are transferred to solitary confinement of ward 240 in Evinprison .
Last weekend they participated in a hungerstrike of political prisoners to protest to the conditions in their ward.They chanted revolutionary songs like Yar-e Dabestani (my classmate) and Ey Iran (a famous Iranian anthem) to insist on their entitlement to a minimum amount of their human rights. Some prisoners were wearing green wristbands .
Bozorgnia took restrictive measures against prisoners in order to punish them by depriving them from making phone calls, and locking prisoners in their ward for several hours during daily breaks.
The prisoners in ward 350 have announced if their friends are not returned from the solitary cells, they will go on an indefinite hunger strike starting March 21, 2010 (Iranian New Year).
Ward 350 holds more than 150 of the prisoners arrested post-election 2009.

The Committee of Human Rights Reporters (CHRR) also responded via a pressrelease about the accusations that the organization is a cover-up for foreign political activities.
They condemn the new wave of arrests and humanrightsabuse.

Opposition websites report that Mohsen Mirdamadi, head of the Islamic Participation Front is released against a bailbond of $450.000.
Earlier this week the government banned the political party.
Also filmdirector Mohammad Rasoulof and reformist journalist Akbar Montajabi were released on bail.
