Iran: international Womans Day

In the prison of Rajaee Shahr is last week a man hanged.
The man. Mehdi Esmaeili (26) was convicted for a murder he committed when he was 19 years old.

Today is International Womans Day.

Human Rights Watch has urged Iran March 5th to free the detained supporters of the mourning mothers immediately.
Omolbanin Ebrahimi, Elham Ahsani, Jila Karamzadeh-Makvandi, Fatemeh Rastegari, Leila Seifollahi and Farzaneh Zeinali.
These women are imprisoned for some weeks without being allowed to see their families or having access to their lawyers, and it is not clear whether authorities have informed the women of the reasons for their arrest.
Article 9 from International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), in which Iran is a party, forbids arbitrary arrests.

March 6th Human Rights Watch published a statement in which she urges Iran to stop underming womans rights.

Member of OnemillionsignaturesCampaign Khadijeh Moghaddam is found guilty of “assembly and conspiracy with intent to act against national security, ” and sentenced to 1 year suspended in prison with a period of 5 years.
She is acquitted of “propaganda against the regime” and “disobedience of police orders” .
The co-defendant,Dr. Khosro Shahi, her husband, was acquitted from the charge of “propaganda against the regime.” Khosro Shahi had been charged for interviews he gave two years ago during his wife’s detention
