May 21 is Azeri civilrightsactivist Behboud Gholizadeh arrested in the city of Miandoab.
According to website Savalan Sessi he was arrested in his photograph studio, where agents took also his computer, CD's and other personal belongings.
Gholizadeh is the head of the NGO Yashil which permit has been revoked due to allegations about the organisation's adoption of a separatist agenda.
In recent weeks, more then 12 Azeri have been arrested by the authorities.

Emad Bahavar and Amir Hossein Kazemi, 2 members of the youth branch of Iranian Freedom Movement, have come under renewed physical and psychological pressure to make a televised confession.
Emad Bahavar has been returned to the isolation ward and his visitation rights have been revoked.
Their temporary detention orders expired 15 days ago, but they were not released.

100 days after his arrest, nothing is known about the charges against blogger and studentactivist Aliakbar Ajami, a member of Students for Equality and Freedom and editor-in-chief of studentpublication A Better World.
He is imprisoned in ward 350 of Evinprison.

May 19 Mohieddin Azadi, a Kurdish humanrights and civilrightsactivist started a hungerstrike to protest the lack of medical treatment.
According to Kurdistan Human Rights Organization, Azadi is said to be in critical condition. Azadi was arrested in March 2008 and as a result of the bad physical treatment in prisons in Sanandaj and Saghez he is in poor health.
Last year he was convicted to 4 years in prison for having ties to foreign elements.

Due to the new rules of the Ministry of Education, Bahai Shadan Shirzi, 14 cannot register in the school for 8th grade.
Previously, the government allowed all students to sign up for the School’s entrance exam and only prevented Baha’i students from registration after passing the test.
The form is changed so, that if applicants fail to fill out the “religion” option, a box with this message pops out: “Unfortunately, the information given was not submitted.”

The guardians of Rajai Shahr prison continue to attack defenseless prisoners and destroying their personal belongings. A number of prisoners suffered injuries. Despite their injuries, the prisoners have not received any treatment.These organized and systematic attacks are a trend in recent months. Recently 80 refrigerators have been destroyed by prison guards.
In recent years Rajai Shahrprison has turned into a place of exile for political prisoners who are forced detainment with prisoners sentenced to serious crimes and who suffer from skin and blood diseases.
