Iran: students

Shabnam Madadzadeh, a detained member of the Islamic Association of Tarbiat-Moalem University, is banned from prison visits and using the telephone.
She is in prison since February 20, 2009 and was August 2, 2010 transferred from Evinprison to Rajaei Shahrprison.
Since her arrest she has not been allowed any prison leave.She suffers from digestive ailments and heart disease. She is convicted to 5 years imprisonment and exile on charges of “Moharebeh” and “propaganda against the regime.


In Gohardasht(Rajaei Shahrprison) are detained the political prisoners Ahmad Zeidabadi, Isa Saharkhiz, Masoud Bastani, Heshmatollah Tabarzadi, Rassoul Badaghi, Massoud Osanloo, Majid Tavakoli, Behrouz Javid Tehrani, and others.
Conditions in this prison are extremely bad.
Not only political prisoners but the most dangerous criminals are also detained in Gohardasht prison.

Political activist and former head of the Public Relations Office of the Mashhad City Hall during the reformist era, Hossein Farzin, has been arrested July 11th 2010.
There is no information as to his whereabouts.
In recent days were also Ali Shakourirad, Mehdi Khazali, several studentactivists and familymembers of political prisoners arrested.

Hossein Sarshoomi, a member of the Liberty-Equality Student Association, who has been detained since 21 June, is still in prisonlimbo. There is concern as to his condition.
In recent days many students have been arrested after being summoned.
Gholam Hossein Torki, the representative of the Larijani brothers who is in charge of investigating the raid on Tehran University Dormitory, has summoned many students, to arrest them afterwards.
The secretary of Tehran University and the Tehran School of Medical Sciences Pro-Democracy Student Association Naeim Aghaei has been arrested October 12, after being summoned to the judiciary unit of the Armed Forces.
Former Vice- President of the Pro-Democracy Student Association Habib Farahzadi was arrested October 10th.
Ayoub Nemati, and Kaveh Akbari were also arrested in connection to the Dormitory Raid.

The first hearing of journalist, blogger and humanrightsactivist Nasoor Naghipoor will be Saturday, October 16th. The main charges against him are his internet activities. He was arrested by the so called Cyber Police branch of the Revolutionary Guards in retaliation against online Human Rights activities.
