A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry defended the many executions in Iran.
He said that 80% of these are drugsrelated and that if Iran does not fight drugs, European countries will be harmed.

Mehdi Motamedi-Mehr, member of the Freedom Movement of Iran is sentenced to 5 years in prison.Between his second courthearing and the handing of his verdict to his attorney the time was less than an hour.
He was charged with membership in the Freedom Movement of Iran, anti-regime propaganda, assembly and conspiracy to act against national security.
Other convicted members of the group are Emad Bahvar 10 years in prison, Ebrahim Yazdi currently in prison and Farid Taheri and Mehdi Gholizadeh, sentenced to 3 and 6 years in prison.

The Committee of Human Rights Reporters requests in a statement that the verdict against Navid Khanjani and the verdicts and charges against other members of CHRR being cancelled.
They emphasize that everything the committee has done up to now has only been aimed at eliminating the existing discriminations in Iran and defending the human rights of fellow citizens, regardless of their religion or race or political views.
