Iran: rallies

Iran Human Rights published her yearly report on the deathpenalty in Iran.
According the spokesman of Iran Human Rights, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the number of annual executions in 2010 is probably the highest since the mass executions of political prisoners in the summer of 1988.
According to IHR’s annual report at least 546 people have been executed in 2010 in Iran. IHR has also received additional reports of more than 200 executions that haven’t been included in the report due to ongoing investigations.

Rallies are being held across Iran to mark the 32nd anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. and president Ahmadinejad will hold a speech.
The government of Iran rejected to grant permission for a rally in solidarity with the Egyptian people planned by the opposition on February 14.
Mehdi Karroubi was put under "housearrest" no visitors are allowed to enter his house.Diverse people were arrested.
Fariba Ebtehaj, the head of Masoumeh Ebtekar's office, who is is a member of the Tehran City Council and was an advisor to former president Khatami, was arrested.
Mohammad Hossein Sharifzadegan, Omid Mahaddes, Sadreddin Beheshti, Saleh Noghrehkar, Taghi Rahmani, Meysam Mohamamdi and Dr. Mostafa Mirahmadizadeh have been arrested.

The Bahai activist Afshin Heyratian was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
