Iran: after the 8 March 2011

Saturday March 5, 3 Afghans were hanged in Evinprison in Tehran.
The not identified men were sentenced to death for raping a woman in 2009.

Amnesty International called on the Iranian government to release all women detained arbitrarily in Iran, including political activists, rights defenders and members of religious and ethnic minorities.
Nine of these women are Hengameh Shahidi, Shiva Nazar Ahari, Alieh Aghdam-Doust, Ronak Safazadeh, Zeynab Beyezidi, Mahboubeh Karami, Behareh Hedayat, Ma’soumeh Ka’bi, and Rozita Vaseghi
Dozens of other women are currently detained arbitrarily.
