Familymembers of female political prisoners who are imprisoned on the womans ward of Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj are having great concern about the bad conditions in prison. In the past 2 years, 3 rapes have taken place in the prison, which have led to murder but the authorities have not confronted the involved inmates.
Rape is problem in both female and male prisons.
Motahareh Bahrami-Haghighi, Shabnam Madadzadeh, Reyhaneh Haj-Ebrahim-Dabagh, Maryam Akbari-Monfared, Masoumeh Yavari, Mahvash Sabet, Fariba Kamalabadi and Kobra Banazadeh-Amiri are among the undersigned.



The houses of Bahais Zohreh Tabyanian, Pouya Tabyanian, Taraneh Ehsani and Elham Motoarefi in Semnan were raided and searched by security agents and they were arrested and transferred to an unknown location.




Journalist Abdolreza Tajik is sentenced to six years in jail.The charge was membership of an illegal group and propaganda against the regime. According to his lawyer, Tajik is sentenced to 5 years in prison for being a member of Human Rights Defenders Centre, although this group not has been officially labeled an illegal organization.

Afshin Ossanlou, brother of Union leader Mansour Ossanlou, who was arrested in November is currently held in ward 209 of Evinprison.He was arrested although he was never politically active.
Mansour Ossanlou is currently in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj,and has serious heartproblems.

Shiva Nazar-Ahari, one of the founders of Human Rights Reporters Committee and member of One Million Signatures Campaign and Society for the Support of Child Labourers and Street Kids, is awarded with the Theodor Haecker prize for her courageous internet reporting on human rights violations.
She is sentenced to a four years prisonterm and banned from leaving the country.


The trial of the three Americans, facing spycharges, Shane Bauer, Josh Fattal and Sarah Shourd will be held in May.
The head of the prosecutor's office in Tehran said that the trial may be held in public.
