Iran: detained

Leila Tavasoli and Parvin Javadzadeh, who were granted temporary prison leave on March 20, returned to prison.
Javadzadeh serves a prisonsentence of 26 months.She was arrested during the Ashuraprotests.
Tavasoli was arrested after the Ashuraprotests because she disclosed that she witnessed security agents running over and killing a peaceful demonstrator.

Imprisoned blogger Hossein Ronaghi Maleki is still not receiving medical care and his condition deteriorates.
His kidneys are infected but prisonofficials deny him an operation, and said that they could not pay for this prisoner’s surgery.
His parents told prison officials that they would pay for the operation. Despite this, medical care was denied to him.
Maleki is serving a prisonsentence of 15 years.

The European Students’ Union (ESU) has urged the European Commission and UNESCO to release imprisoned Iranian studentleader Bahareh Hedayat, immediately.
Hedayat was arrested December 2009 and is sentenced to 9½ years in prison.
April 5, she celebrated her 30th birthday in prison.
