Iran: manipulation

The imposed 20 years prisonsentence for the 7 detained Bahaileaders was cut to 10 years.
Authorities reversed this decision.
In august 2009 they were sentenced to 20 years in prison for “espionage for Israel”, “insulting religious sanctities” and “propaganda against the system”, and in september this was reduced to 10 years.
March 18 the prosecutor reinstated the 20-yearssentence.
Currently 79 Bahai are imprisoned in Iran.
Amnesty International campaigns for immediate release of Fariba Kamalabadi, Mahvash Sabet, Jamaloddin Khanjani, Afif Naeimi, Saeid Rezaie, Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Vahid Tizfahm since their arrest in 2008.

According to Daneshoo News the physical condition of Arash Sadeghi, who went on a hungerstrike on March 15, has so much deteriorated, that he was transferred from the Evin prison to Modarres hospital.
A few days before he was foltered to the extend that he broke his shoulderblade and some ribs. Instead of receiving medical care, he was transferred to solitary confinement.
Familiemembers said that security officials instructed them in a phone conversation to not visit him in the hospital.

Newsagencies wrote that Ahmad Tavakkoli, member of Iranian parliament revealed that Iranian factory owners were threathened that if they oppose against the lifting of subsidies, they would be imprisoned.
Tavakkoli said that a high-ranking government official gathered representatives from the chamber of commerce, industries, and mines, telling them that ‘all our political measures are ready and the prisons are ready, too.’”
