Iran: in prison

May 29th, 2 men were hanged in public at Azadisquare in Kermanshah..
P. Mohammadi Poshtehrizeh, was convicted of the rape of a 12-year-old boy and A. Namaki, was convicted for the rape of a 9-year-old girl.
The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.

According to reports are all prisoners they had arrested months ago on espionage charges transferred by the ministry of information from the public cellblocks to the cellblocks of the ministry.
After the arrest of 30 CIAspies the pressure to make a televised confession is increased.

Female political prisoners in the quarantaineward of Evin prison Iran wrote an open letter.
In this letter they write that male interrogators have often forced them "to make false self-incriminating confessions" by threatening them with sexual assault.
They also write that they are beaten, not allowed to get fresh air and are deprived from telephonerights.
Currently there are 32 female political prisoners in the methadone ward.
