Behnam Ganji, 22, student at Tehran University of Applied Sciences, committed suicide a few weeks after his release from Evinprison.
He was arrested July 31st along with Kouhiar Goudarzi and another friend.
During his arrest he was transferred to solitary confinement at Evin’s Ward 240 and put under severe psychological pressure to provide false confessions to interrogators. He and the other friend were released August 8.

Unconfirmed reports on the blog of journalist Saeed Pourheydar say , that at protests to save lake Urmia at least 13 protestors were wounded and taken to the Matrahihospital, 4 of them in a critical condition. It is said that 5 people were killed.
Dozens of protestors clashed with basiji forces who were armed with PVCpipes.

An Iranian sniper shot and killed Saturday a Kurdish shepherd in the area of Haj Omran, in Northern Iraq. The report was confirmed by the mayor.
Both Iran and Turkey attacked this area with heavy shelling. Iran says its shelling is solely aimed at bases of PEJAK.
