Iran: more

The U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) condemned Iran in a joint statement for the efforts to silence independent media.
They made the statement after the recent arrest of several documentary makers. These are accused of cooperating with BBC-Persia.
The arrest coincided with the airing of a documentary on BBC Persian television about Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

Nothing is known about the whereabouts of Gonabadi dervish Hamidreza Moradi Sarvestani who was arrested September 4th, along with other derwishes who maintain the Majzoobaneh-Nour website. This website publishes reliable reports about human rights violations.
Sarvestani has a heartcondition and his family is extremely concerned about his condition.
Farshad Maroufi an environmental activist in Naghdeh has disappeared after being summoned by the Ministry of Intelligence.
He had participated in the Lake Uromiyeh drying out protests.

The Iranian ambassador in Turkey visited the Turkish Minister of Agriculture to discuss the ties between the two countries.
In the first 7 months of 2011 the trade between Iran and Turkey grew 90 percent compared to the same period last year.
