Iran: actions

According to Majzooban Noor website the Gonabadi derwishes Farzad Darvish, Mohammad Ali Saadi, Mohammad Jalal Nikbakht and Hojatollah Saidi, who were arrested on October 8, are in Pirbanan prison in Shiraz deprived of their most basic human rights.
They are detained between drugsdealers and common criminals.
July 12 the derwishes were convicted by Branch 1 of Servastan’s Public Court to 6 months in prison on charge of disturbing public order.

The sister of laboractivist Reza Shahabi said during an interview with BBC Farsi that his family is ver concerned about the health of her brother. Shahabi is already 14 days in a hungerstrike and during a phonecall he spoke with great difficulty and was in very poor health.
Shahabi is in hungerstrike to protest being held with an unknown circumstance.

Sources at Green Voice of Freedom say that there is a heavy security deployment in Tehran for fears of a fresh wave of opposition protests on Ashura and national Students Day.
A videoclip on youtube shows many security agents in riot gear.
In last years there were big clashes on Ashura between demonstrators and police, leaving dead and wounded people.

International schools in Iran are closed since the storming of the British Embassy.
The French school is located on British embassy grounds and children were in class when the mob swarmed through the compound gates. Windows at the German school nearby were shattered in the attack, but the British teachers sent pupils home early.
Since then schools are closed, forcing children to stay home.
The parents were told that foreign teachers and their families had left the country.

Mehdi Karroubi was allowed a visit from his family last weekend.
This was the third time in 10 months of housearrest that Karroubi was allowed to receive a visit.
According to Karroubis son, his father was in better health then the last time he visited him.
His detention conditions have improved since the last time when he lived in an appartment that too small was too house his wife. He lives in a bigger house now.
