Iran: signed

In Shiraz were January 15th, 12 people hanged.On different places in the city 5 people were hanged in public.
Rahmat Heydari, convicted of kidnapping, murder and armed robbery. He was arrested four weeks ago.
Esmaeil Hamidi Mahmood Abadi, convicted of armed robbery.
Ali Hadavinia, convicted of armed robbery.
Mohammad Nabi Tavakoli, convicted of kidnapping and rape.
Ramin Darakhshan, convicted of rape and kidnapping.
Also 7 people were hanged in the prison of Shiraz.
All these prisoners were convicted of drug-related offences and none of them were identified by name.

The press adviser of president Ahmadinejad Ali Akbar Javanfekr has been sentenced to one year in prison on charges of insulting the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
He was also stripped of membership of political parties, groups, associations, and media activities for five years.
It did not specify how or when Javanfekr, allegedly insulted Khamenei.
In November, Javanfekr received a one-year sentence and was banned from journalism- activities for three years on charges of "publishing materials contrary to Islamic norms".

Iranian film A Separation won a Golden Globe for best foreign language film in Los Angeles.
The film tells the story of a married couple facing the dilemma of whether to leave Iran.
Earlier the film won a Golden Bear award in Berlin..

More then 230 Iranian political activists made a statement in which they strongly condemned the recent assassination of nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan. Roshan is the third murdered scientist in two years.
At the list of signatories of activists, journalists and intellectuals are also some who have at some point felt the wrath of the Iranian regime’s oppressive practices.

Former commander of Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Hossein Alaei said that the article he had written was wrong interpreted.
He wanted to give a picture of the repressive and dictatorial behavior of the shah.
By hard-liners inside Iran and also by opponents of the Iranian regime inside and outside the country the article was interpreted as criticism against decisions of Supreme Leader Khamenei.
