Iran: ground

Blogger, publisher and physician Mehdi Khazali is sentenced to 14 years in prison, ten years in exile, and ninety lashes.
He is the son of Ayatollah Khazali, a influential cleric and member of the Assembly of Experts,who is a staunch supporter of Iran’s ruling elite.
Since he was arrested on 9 January 2012 Khazali went on hunger strike to protest his detention.

According to International Campaign for Humanrights in Iran Abolfazal Tabarzadi, 24 has been in a mental hospital suffering of severe paranoia and depression.
He is a student and nephew of political activist Heshmatollah Tabarzadi.
He was sentenced in appeal to 9 months in prison for acting against national security and contacts to foreign media.
Since October 2011 he is serving his sentence in Karounprison in Ahwaz.

Shargh Daily writes that Iran banned Simpson cartoon dolls for being "too Western".
Barbie and other dolls were already on a toy blacklist.
But Superman and Spiderman were allowed, because they helped the "oppressed."
The secretary of policymaking of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, said that any doll on which genitals are distinguishable, as well as dolls of adults, are banned.
Toy kitchen sets that include glasses for drinking alcoholic beverages are also banned.
