Iran: thoughts

Defrocked cleric, member of Participation Front, and student of late Ayatollah Montazeri, Ahmadreza Ahmadpour is serving a jailterm of 4 years in Sepidar Prison of Ahwaz and exile of 10 years to the city of Izeh.
His family who lives in Qom has been facing many limitations recently, including cancellation of his furlough leave.

Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi released despite his house arrest, and 20-year ban on making films, a new film titled This Is Not a Film,smuggled out of the country in a cake.
In December 2010 Panahi was convicted to a ban of 20 years writing scripts, directing films, giving interviews or leaving the country, for “making propaganda against the system” and placed under house arrest.
He is also waiting execution of a 6 years prison verdict.

The Iranian UN Mission says that an Iranian identified in an Associated Press story as being under surveillance by the New York Police Department and as a potential spy by the FBI was being illegally harassed and was not involved in spying.
The man, Gholamzadeh Mahabadi Hossein who works close to the UN Mission of Iran was used by the AP to illustrate the dysfunctional relationship between the New York Police Department and the FBI, and how it sometimes jeopardizes cases and national security.
