Iran: more, May 7, 2012

In the prison of Tehran were nine drugstraffickers hanged.
Seven of them have been sentenced to death in connection with the confiscation of 500 kilograms of methamphetamine on a ship bound to South East Asia. Their names are Reza Golshani, Abolfazl Norouzi, Majid Heydarkhani, Majid Doosti, Majid Mandehi, Ali Alaee and Babak Pouravarz.
Iranian media did not say when that seizure was made.
The two other men, Bahman and Behzad Nabavi, were sentenced for trafficking of 420 kg methamphitamine.

Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh, an ex-aide of president Ahmadinejad was pardoned by ayatollah Khamenei.
Last year he was arrested on charges of corruption following his appointment to deputy foreign minister, an incident which led to impeachment threats against the head of the Foreign Ministry.
Tehran public prosecutor Abbas Dolatabadi said on May 6 that the case against Malekzadeh was ready to be prosecuted when he was pardoned.
