Iran: more August 26, 2012

Website Sepahahr wrote that Saturday a helicopter of Iran's revolutionary guards has crashedt in Sardashtarea near the Iraqi border.
4 guards were killed in the crash, the website  said only that the helicopter suffered "technical failure".

Amnesty International says that the writer Arzhang Davoodi, 60 must be released immediately.

Davoodi, who is imprisoned since 2003 faces a court hearing 28 August on a new charge of “enmity against God” (moharebeh), which carries a possible death sentence.
This new charge is believed to be linked to his peaceful political activism and writings, including the release of an audio recording in which he called for “freedom and democracy”.

Sunday Iran opened in Tehran the summit of 80 countries of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
Iran said in the openingspeech that this it says proves that Washington has failed to isolate it from the rest of the world.
Tehran has declared a five-day holiday in the capital to ease traffic pressures.
A conservative cleric warned opposition activists, in an interview, not to use the NAM summit as a chance to rekindle their protests from 2009.
