Iran: more September 25, 2012



The arrest of a son and daughter of Rafsanjani is seen as the latest blow by hardliners to his position. He has been banned from leading Tehran’s Friday Prayers, lost his role as the head of the Assembly of Experts. He also had been openly attacked at public events.
Both arrests are an escalation at a moment he seems to regain his position.

Last week agents of security service arrested bloggers and translators Ali Ranjbar and Hamid-Reza Abdollahi. Their families were not informed of the reason for their arrest and were denie to contact them.
