Iran: more September 27th, 2012

An Iranian diplomat was in New York surrounded and threathened by angry protestors .
He was escorted by police to a safe place.
The incident happened after the speech held by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for the U.N. General Assembly. Hundreds of protestors raided in front of the building of the United Nations.

A top-aide of President Ahmadinejad,who also heads Iran's official IRNA news agency, Ali Akbar Javanfekr is arrested in Tehran, as the Iranian president was delivering a speech and brought to Evinprison to serve his 6-months prisonsentence on charges of publishing material offensive to Islamic codes and public morality.

International Campaign for Human Rights supports a new initiative of the teachers organization Be Voice of Iranian Teachers to raise awareness about the condition of teachers in Iran.
Be Voice of Iranian Teachers has issued a partial list of nearly 40 teachers who have been detained, imprisoned, and harassed by Iranian officials since 2009.

Iranian newspaper Shargh was banned on September 26 following publication of a cartoon entitled “The Blindfolded Men,”. The cartoonist Hadi Heydari is summoned to court and Mehdi Rahmanian, the manager of the newspaper has been brought to Evin Prison.
Those protesting the cartoon state that it is an insult on Iran-Iraq War veterans, but many believe this to be a mere excuse for banning the reformist newspaper.
