Iran: World Day Against the Death Penalty, October 10. 2012

Today is World Day Against the Death Penalty.
Iran Human Rights (IHR) together with four other NGOs dedicated to human rights issues inside Iran called for a moratorium on international funding to Iran’s anti-drug trafficking programs until such time Iran renounces its policy of execution for those convicted of drug-related offenses.

Amnesty International published an article about the progress towards abolishing the use of the death penalty worldwide in the last 10 years.

Website Kalemeh reported that arrested humanrightsactivist Hossein Ronaghi Maleki wrote a letter to Ayatollah Sadegh Larijani, calling to prosecute the officials who beat him and other aid workers last month at a relief camp for earthquake victims in northwestern Iran.


In Iran there are childoffenders, still on death row.

Children are being hanged to death.

A child will be hanged to death.
