Iran: more December 4, 2012


According to the judicial website in the prison of Kermanshah on December 3rd one woman and two men were hanged. They were convicted on drugsrelated charges.
On the Azadisquare in Kermanshah is December 3rd one man  hanged in public. He was convicted for rape and kidnapping.
None of the executed was named.

Iran says that it captured an American drone that entered Iranian airspace over the Persian Gulf.
Iranian statemedia write that the aircraft was a ScanEagle built by Boeing. The company's website says that it is an unmanned drone, that can be launched and operated from ships.
The American navy denied that one of its drones is missing.

Mostafa Tajzadeh (photo) and Behzad Nabavi are summoned to court to face new charges.
Both men were arrested shortly after the June 2009 presidential elections.
 Tajzadeh, a former Minister of Interior and critic of the regime, was sentenced to six years in prison. Nabavi, a former Deputy  Speaker of parliament, was given a five-year term.

Iran plans to build a 500 Megawatt power plant in Iraq which will supply electricity to Iraqs southern cities of Najaf and Karbala.
An official of the Iranian ministry of Energy said that the first phase of the combined-cycle Heidariya power plant would also provide the holy Shia shrines in Iraq with free electricity.
A comment on the site iranian.com says this a perfect example of how the Ayatollahs are taking the hard earned resources of Iran, and putting it to work for the Kings of the Shiites.
