Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has rejected an offer of direct talks made by U.S. Vice President.
In a speech to air force commanders on February he said that such talks will not solve anything. He also said that the Americans wanted to negotiate while "pointing the gun at Iran".

Iran denies being involved in the bombing of a bus last year July in Bulgaria. Tuesday Bulgaria accused Iranian-backed Hezbollah of carrying out the July attack.

Despite international organizations and International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran urged the Iranian government to stop its practice of enacting cruel punishment, currently an apparatus that amputates the fingers of theft suspects in public is used.
These punishments get carried out more often.
