Iran: more March 5, 2013



Staff-editor at monthly Mehmaheh MohammadJavad Rouh has been arrested on March 4 maart in his house by security agents.
Rouha is a former member of Association for the Defence of Prisoner Rights and the Islamic Iran Participation Front. He worked for Iranian Labour News Agency as for reformist daily's Norooz and Yas-e No.
The ministry of intelligence had announced that in the course of its investigations it may arrest more journalists.

According to the official newsagency Irna, Iranian Intelligence Ministry has dealt a heavy blow to 600 journalists operating against the regime. 150 of journalists had been working from inside the country and the rest from abroad.
Referring to the unrest that followed the widely disputed 2009 presidential elections, Heidar Moslehi said that the sedition now comprised domestic and foreign “rings” and their main goal in the upcoming elections in June was to comeback and to strike a revolution.
He added that his goal is to prevent this.

There is growing concern about the health of Dr. Mehdi Khazali .
Since he was transferred to ward 209 of Evinprison 66 days ago, he is on a hungerstrike.
A week ago the judge ordered to release him on bail, and the bail has been posted for his release. But the interrogators, with the cooperation of Dr. Khazali’s youngest brother, Alireza Khazali, have pressed new charges against him.

Committee of Human Rights Reporters reports that after 50 days of incommunicado political prisoner Sirvan Hossein Panahi along with Shirzad Hossein Panahi on January 27 was transferred from the detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence in Sanandaj to Ghorveh prison.
