Iran: performance

UN has granted $22million as to help Iran combat drugs.
Iran is a major drugs-traffickingroute from Afghanistan and Pakistan to Europe.
A member of parliament said that the UNcontribution was a negligible contribution to Iran's anti-drugscampaign.


In Sistan-e-Baluchestan, three agents of the paramilitary Bassij force have been killed.
Official reports say, they have been killed in a fight with drugstraffickers.
Seven suspects have been arrested and a tonne of drugs was captured.
The Bassij are Islamist vigilantes loyal to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In 2005, they were given powers to act as the country’s back-up police force.



This morning Belgian police removed 40 Iranian asylumseekers from the Miniemenchurch in Brussels.

Two occupants climbed in a crane en threaten to jump.
The asylumseekers occupied the curch four months ago asking for a regularization of their stay in Belgium. Some asylumseekers live already in Belgium for years.
