Iran: weight


Sunday is In the town of Garchak, 40 kilometres from Tehran a man hanged in public.
ISNA reported that the man, Amir Hossein R was convicted for killing a judge.


In the past two years Iran exported $350 million of gold. Actually this should have been nearly $2 billion if undeclared exports were counted for. According to the managing director of Iran's Gold, Jewelry and Silver Industry Export Development Fund, Ali Fakhr-Movahedi,Iran is the world's eighth largest exporter of gold and jewelry.
The major customers are Persian Gulf Arab states including Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates as well as Central Asian countries.


The world's four-time and twice Olympic weightlifting gold medalist Hossein Rezazadeh had to withdraw from the upcoming world championship in Thailand due to injuries.
August 18 he had a caraccident on the way to the weightlifting camp in Chaboksar.
Although reports said that Rezazadeh escaped the accident unhurt, he withdraw in a letter addressed to the head of Iran's weightlifting federation.


The mother of Adnan Hassanpour, one of the journalists who is sentenced to death last month, gave an interview to Rooz-online in which she describes her feelings when she heard about the verdict and asks officials to review the case.
