Iran: perform

An official from the Iranian Ministry of Culture and the Islamic Guidance said that the visa of al-Arabiya TV bureau chief had expired and there is no matter of expulsion.
The official also said that Hassan Fahs's visa had expired and was not extended due to his performance in Iran.
The official stressed that this has not indicated the closure of Al-Arabiya bureau in Iran but it means that its bureau chief must leave the country as soon as possible for failing to extend his visa.


This year the production of cotton in Iran will hit 75,000 tons.
After the cotton market revived last year, farmers were encouraged to produce more cotton and they allocated 10,000 more hectares,what resulted in a 20 percent growth.
The guaranteed purchase-agreements of Association of Cotton Farmers (ACF) and the rise of cotton price on the international markets contributed to the result.


Parvin Ardalan, Maryam Hosseinkhah, Nahid Keshavarz and Jelve Javaheri are sentenced to 6 months in prison by branch 13 of the Revolutionary Courts.
The women were charged for their activities on the site of Change for Equality, the official site of the Campaign and Zanestan the webzine of the Women’s Cultural Center.
The sentence is based on Article 500 of the Iranian Penal Code.
Shirin Ebadi, the lawyer the lawyer representing the women’s rights activists said she will appeal the sentence and that nobody can be sentenced based on the crime of expression of their opinion.
