Iran: keep on going

Stop Child Execution reports that December 30th, 2008 the eight execution of a childoffender took place.
Ahmad Zare'e was 17 when he killed another person in a village in the outskirts of Sanandaj.
He was hanged in the court-yard of the prison at a time (moharam)when no executions are to take place.

January 9th, 2009, Stop Child Execution announced that they reached the 20 000 signatures mark on the Stop Child Exections petition.

An official of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology said that 30% of the Iranian university students are not interested in their fields of study.
According to him, lack of motivation leads especially for men to receive more conditional passes.
The number of students was estimated 3,5 million in 2008,from about 2.150 million in 2005.


Fars newsagency reported that $120m is allocated for improvement and expansion of the public transportation fleets in 9 cities.
The cities are Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Kermanshah, Ahvaz, Karaj, and Qom.


In Iran there are childoffenders, still on death row.

Children are being hanged to death.
