Iran: further

Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran report that August 1 two merchants of Tehran Bazaar were sentenced by judge Salavati of branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
Javad Lari is sentenced to death. He was arrested in September 2008. The Ministry of Information charged him with Moharebeh (waging war against God), acting against national security, propaganda against the regime, arranging holidays (the arranged holidays to various Iranian cities were for his family), and establishing a financial fund to support the Mujahedin organization.
Mohsen Dogmechi was sentenced to 15 years in Gohardashtprison in Karaj.
Both prisoners are in ward 30 of Evinprison.
Dogmechi and Lari were also both political prisoners in the 1980s where they were subjected to torture.
Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhabzi, also a Bazaarmerchant is imprisoned since December 2009 in ward 209 of Evinprison. His current situation is uncertain.

Mir Hossein Mousavi wrote a letter to the 17 political prisoners in hungerstrike in Evinprison and asked that they put an end to their hunger strike.
The Committee to Protect Journalists said that the hungerstrike underscores the inhumane conditions at the prison, and asks for the release of all journalists.

Mehdi Karroubi has been attacked while visiting a mosque for a funeral, by a group of supporters of president Ahmadinejad. The group shouted slogans against him and threathened the public with teargas.
Karroubi's son told that all the attackers in that group were wearing the same kind of shoes that belongs to Revolutionary Guards( IRGC).
