Iran: and it goes on

Seyed Alireza Beteshti Shirazi, one of Mousavi’s senior advisors is released from prison on a bail of $50,000.
He was arrested December 28th 2009 and kept in isolation for weeks before being transferred to a general ward of Evin prison.

A journalist and close friend of Hossein Derakhshan, said in an interview with VOA that Derahkshan returned to Iran in 2008, because he was being offered a job by those close to Mr. Ahmadinejad,in particular, Mr. Rahim Mashaei. Him was offered a job as international director at PressTV.
Derakshan was arrested and sentenced to 19½ years in prison.

Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran HRDAI report that a female ward at Evin has been deprived of drinkingwater in the last 24 hours.
This ward also includes a number of newborns and toddlers under the age of two, incarcerated with their mothers. The lack of water has also lead to undesired sanitary conditions resulting in a number of female prisoners experiencing diarrhea and nausea.
In this ward are:
Nazila Dashti,Atefeh Nabavi,Mahdieh Golrou,Zahra Jabari,Farah Vazehan,Kobra Zaghedoost,Alieyeh Eghdamdoost,Saba Rezvani,Hengameh Shahidi,Bahareh Hedayat,Parvin Javadzadeh, Reyhaneh Haj Ebrahim Dabagh,Soosan Taryanian,Manijeh Safar Elahi,Fatemeh Khorramjoo,Mathare Bahrami Haghighati,Ezrah Saadat Ghazi Mirsaeed,Kefayaat Malek Mohammadi,Fatemeh Rahnama.
Currently there are only 20 female political prisoners being held at Evin prison.

The site Daneshjoonews.com (FA) published the names of 73 students who are currently being held in Iranian jails.
According to the site this number is the highest it has been in decades.
Throughout the country from Evinprison in Tehran to prisons in Ahwaz, Tabriz, Isfahan, Babol, Rajaee Shahr, and Gohardasht, just outside Tehran, activist students are jailed.
