In the prison of Isfahan are five men hanged. According to IRIB they were convicted for transporting 9500 kilograms of heroin, 358 grams of crack, 90 kilograms of opium and marijuana, 765 grams of heroin, and smuggling and armed transporting of 252 kilograms of opium.

Two German journalists and the lawyer Houtan Kian and Sajjad Ghaderzadeh, the son of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiari were arrested October 10 in Tabriz.
Securityagents arrested them and the journalists while they were conducting an interview.
Mina Ahadi, the spokesperson for the International Committee Against Stoning and the International Committee Against Executions, was connected to them via phone when security forces invaded the office.
The whereabouts and the current condition of the four detainees is unknown.
Earlier this month it was known that the children of Ashtiari asked for political asylum in Italy because they're afraid of being arrested.

Iran withdraw the presslicense of Angeles Espinosa the correspondent from daily El Pais and ordered her to leave the country within two weeks.
Further information was not given but this decision appeared to be linked to an interview she had conducted with the son of the late dissident Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri in July.

A previously unknown group threathened to take action during Ahmadinejads visit to Lebanon.
The group Abdaullah Azzam Brigades warned: "The whole of Lebanon will tremble and its ground will quake if Ahmadinejad steps foot on it."
Wednesday and Thursday Ahmadinead will pay an official two-day visit to Lebanon.

An Iranian generaal says that during Sacred Defense Week (September 22 to 28) the army has been equipped with weapons capable of destroying fighter helicopters and armored fighting vehicles.
Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari told Fars newsagency that the recent militairy upgrade effectively enhanced the defensive capabilities of the Ground Forces.
