Iran: further

Journalist Fatemeh Kheradmand has been arrested in her house and transferred to Evinprison. She is the wife of journalist Masoud Lavasani, who was released in September after almost 2 years in prison.
Human Rights House of Iran reported that security agents seached her house and confiscated personal items.
The reason for the arrest has not been announced.

Reza Jushan who was arrested during the post-election incidents in 2009 is sentenced to another 16 months in prison. He was charged with propagating against the government.
Currently he is in Rajayi Shahr Prison in Karaj and has been transported to ward 209 in Evinprison.

U.S. officials say a U.S. Navy ship has rescued 13 Iranians who were being held hostage by Somalian pirates in the Arabian Sea. January 5 they received a distress call from an Iranian fishing vessel that had been boarded by pirates more than a month ago.

President Ahmadinejad has left for a fiveday trip to South-America.
He visits Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Ecuador.
According to Fars newsagency he says that these countries resist the oppression of the United States and share an anticolonialist view.
