Iran: more

Wednesday is at Islamic Azad Universityin Tehran Farhad Daneshjoo chosen as president of the university.
He received 5 out of 9 votes.
After receiving approval of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution he will replace Abdollah Jasbi, who has been locked in a power struggle with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad since the June 2009 presidential elections.
Daneshoo is an Ahmadinejad ally.

In Tehran and Shiraz the derwishes Simin Nematollahi and Kasra Nouri members of Gonabadi Nematollahi-Order have been arrested.
They have been charged with spreading propaganda against the Iranian establishment.
In recent years many derwishes were arrested and houses of worship demolished.

Reporters without Borders wrote in a letter to Navi Pillay, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, her concern of the escalation of the repression of journalists, netizens and civil society members and the increase in online censorship in Iran.

Thursday said a senior official that USA increases her aim to close the trade with Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
This is part of economic sanctions against Iran.

The Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei, accused USA and Israel of orchestrating the assassination of Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, a nuclear scientist in Tehran last week.
He said so in a condolenceletter to Roshan's family, which was posted on Khamenei’s website.
