Iran: choose May 4, 2012

Today Iran holds the second round of parliamentary elections to decide 65 seats still outstanding in its 290-member legislature.
The new parliament, will like the old parliament, mainly conservative, but how that conservative force is configured, is not clear yet. The very little support for President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the current parliament will be further eroded.
Important is the battle for the position of parliamentary speaker between Ali Larijani and Hadad Adel.

Iranlaborreport writes that   Iranian workers’ requests for a march or for celebrations on Mayday were flatly turned down for the fifth consecutive year this year. Even the official labor organizations were denied permits.
Around May 1 were several little gatherings with speeches about the economic situation and the ban on Maycelebrations.
